Maestro Ilayaraja

Born: 2 June 1943 (age 77 years) in Pannaipuram, Tamilnadu in  India. 

Gnanathesikan, known as Ilaiyaraaja, is an Indian film composer, singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, orchestrator, conductor-arranger and lyricist who works in the Indian film industry, predominantly in Tamil. He has also worked in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Hindi films. 

His folk music background combined with Carnatic Raagas & knowledge in Western classical music has gave him a new dimension in composition of his music and has well received in Indian music scenario. 

He is a prodigy in music. Has composed albums such as " How to Name it " and arranged, composed Tamil devotion " Thiruvasagam " in Western Classical genre. 

Also he is known for his Back Ground Music score in Indian movie industry with unique composition of mixture of Indian music instruments. He entered as music director in a Tamil Movie called " Anna Kili " in 1976. As on now he has scored music for more than 7000 movies in India. He is a Genius & Legend in Indian music industry. Composing music is an effortless task for him. 

Infact, he is a great Classical Guitarist which very few know about him.
